Buzz in the Burgh
We BUZZed on Saturday, 6 March at Charles Harper Park.
Music
Thank you to the Helensburgh Public School Band who kicked off the Buzz and Miss Nesta and The Rhythm and Captain Bob's Station House 7 Jazz Band for an entertaining afternoon of Trad/Dixie jazz.
Stalls

Food
There were no rumbly tummies at the Buzz with the Lions BBQ and baked jacket potatoes, donated by Grima Brothers, as well the delicious organic curries from The Red Kitchen. Triggy's Coffee served a welcome tea or coffee and Ken's Cones cooled us off with icecream and Fairy Floss.

What a vibrant community we have in the Northern Illawarra! Our local community stalls provided lots of local information on the day but also provide rewarding volunteering opportunities too! Contact them to see how you can help make your local community a great local community!

Kids Activities
Thank you to the many helpers on our popular Kids' Craft tent. We made worm farms, terrariums, Buzz badges and more, with the help of potting mix and plants donated by Sunrise Nursery and thanks Margaret for your worms!
Thanks also to Justin Morrow and Carley Goldspring for introducing us to the tradtional Swdish game Kubb. You may have seen them playing on the Games Green, surrounded by curious onlookers! Thanks to Peter Frawley for making our very own Buzz Kubb set which will feature at the 2011 Buzz. Start practising!
Rides
Cheers to Fosters Amusements and the Bungy Man for keeping our children safely entertained. We'll see them again in 2011!
Fundraising

Donations to The Fred Hollows Foundation should be made directly to that organisation.
- Helensburgh Lions Ugandan Education Fund, where $150 can provide a high school education
- Helensburgh Lions Club Symbio Conservation Projects - working locally to protect threatened and endangered animals
- The Grameen Bank - microfinance that really makes a difference to the daily lives of some of the world's poorest people
- WellWishers - help finance a well in Ethiopia. Access to clean water is a fundamental human right!
- SILENT AUCTIONS A HUGE thank you to our Silent Auction donors! All winners were very happy with their prizes and it wouldn't have been possible without your generosity! :)
- Food Fans - dine out and about the town with vouchers from Raya Thai , R&R Cafe and Ruby's Cafe. That's no cooking for three days (or nights)!! Valued at $160.
- The Red Kitchen - enjoy a dinner for two cooked in your own home. Total value is over $200.
- Britstop - enjoy a 2 hour double-decker experience for up to 45 people, valued at $590.
- Pamper Pack - indulge yourself at Hair 10, A Little Beauty and Ambience, valued at $130.

Helensburgh Public School not only performed at the Buzz, they also loaned the Lions their shade shelters and tables. We really appreciate this! Thanks also to Karin and Ewald who collected, set up, took down and returned these items to the school.
